The Diploma in Theology explores the biblical, liturgical, theological and catechetial disciplines of the Catholic faith. It aims to provide all faithful- lay and the religious with the basic theology of the Catholic Church. This course of study is essential for youth animators, parish leaders and young people in our Eparchy.
The Pontifical Oriental Institute of Religious Studies (Paurastya Vidyapitham)
The Diploma in Theology is organised by the Pontifical Oriental Institute of Religious Studies (PaurastayVidyapitham), located in Vadavathoor, Kottayam. Paurastya Vidyapitham as it is regionally known, aims to promote the patrimony of Christian wisdom of the Eastern and Western churches with special reference to India and the heritage of the Syro–Malabar Church found by St. Thomas the Apostle. This academic body offers multiple study programs in the faculties of Theology, Philosophy and the Eastern Canon Law.
Eligibility
Successful completion of Year 12, Year 13 (New Zealand) or equivalent. Probationary admission is available to approved persons aged 21 or greater who have not completed Year 12.

- Two-hour Webinar (Every month) – Exploring the core Topic of the month
- One-hour Webinar (Every month) – Detailed Discussion on the Core topic of the month
- Weekend Gathering – Leadership Training (face to face)
